Microtex Cotton Club has developed a chemical management system that has enabled the company to conduct a thorough investigation and actively involve its suppliers, both of raw materials and subcontracted processes, regarding the use of substances harmful to the environment.
The company's goal is to reduce and ultimately eliminate the use of the most harmful chemicals, both to humans and the environment, within its production processes across the entire supply chain.
Additionally, through this project, the company is committed to ensuring full traceability of its production by maintaining a qualified supply chain and implementing a plan for regular inspections.
| BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE Microtex Cotton Club is a member of the Better Cotton Initiative, an association comprised of producers, intermediaries, and non-profit groups established to actively improve the global cotton industry and its impact on the environment and the people who cultivate it.
For us, cotton is a very important material. It accounts for 24% of insecticide use and 11% of pesticide use globally, causing harm to farmers and surrounding communities. However, thanks to this initiative, it is possible to significantly reduce and even completely eliminate the use of harmful chemicals.
Through this approach, 90% of water is saved, soil quality is improved, and the working and economic conditions of farming communities are enhanced. |

GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD (GOTS) The GOTS is recognized as the most important standard for the sustainable production of garments and textile products made from natural fibers derived from organic farming, such as organic cotton or organic wool. Products that can be certified under GOTS include textiles, chemical products for the textile industry, and manufacturing activities.
The Global Organic Textile Standard was developed by leading international organizations in organic agriculture to ensure that consumers can trust that organic textile products are produced in compliance with stringent environmental and social criteria. These criteria are applied at all levels of production, from the field harvesting of natural fibers to subsequent manufacturing stages, and finally to the labeling of the finished product.

| ORGANIC CONTENT STANDARD (OCS) The Organic Content Standard (OCS) promoted by Textile Exchange, is an international, voluntary standard that provides traceability verification for materials according to recognized national organic standards. The standard is used to verify that organically grown raw materials are tracked from the moment of harvest to the final product.
